CryoShape

CryoShapeis the one of the newest and most promising treatments for keloids scars. It was developed by a plastic surgeon, in order to destroy the excess keloid tissue while sparing the healthy skin on top.

The CryoShape may be the most effectively treat available for Keloids and Hypertrophic Scars. It directly treats the deep scar material so significant improvement is noted in just a few treatments.

Unlike other procedures, CryoShape can reduce scar volume by as much at 50-70% in a single treatment. Due to its ability to spare the healthy superficial skin, there is minimal risk of pigmentation changes when compared to traditional Cryotherapy.

Dermaplaning

What is dermaplaning? Dermaplaning is a manual, non-invasive, skin resurfacing procedure that uses a special surgical scalpel blade to remove the top layers of dead skin cells. Dermaplaning can be performed on parts of the face, the entire face, or anywhere on the body. It improves the appearance of acne-scarred skin and smooths out facial wrinkles on the upper layers of the face. It is also an excellent treatment for melasma and environmentally damaged skin. Dermaplaning is an alternative to waxing and depilatories for removing unwanted facial hair, including vellus (light) hair or “peach fuzz” which is difficult to treat with light therapy or lasers. Facial hair does not grow back darker and thicker, but returns slowly and becomes sparser with each treatment.

Your dermaplaning treatment will last 30-45 minutes. During your treatment, your provider will hold your skin taught with one hand while gently scraping the scalpel blade against the skin. You will feel little to no discomfort. Immediately after your treatment, your skin will feel soft and smooth, and look radiant.

Because dermaplaning exposes the top layers of the epidermis, it creates a more efficient response from other laser or resurfacing procedures. Topical skin treatments can also be more effectively absorbed and can penetrate deeper following a dermaplaning treatment. Dermaplaning is appropriate for every skin type, especially those with hypersensitive skin that cannot tolerate other traditional methods of exfoliation.

Dermaplaning and Facial (65 minutes) $125

This gentle treatment improves dull, ruddy complexions by gently removing the top layer of dry and sun-damaged skin cells. This also removes the “peach fuzz” resulting in baby smooth skin. We complete the treatment with a full European facial, including a light peel, extractions, face, neck and shoulder massage.

Pulsed Dye Laser (PDL)

PDL: Facial Veins, Rosacea and Facial Redness

The Pulsed Dye Laser (PDL) is the treatment of choice for small facial veins and facial redness such as that associated with Rosacea. This procedure is much more effective than IPL for removing small veins and redness. The laser energy is applied to the skin which causes the proteins in the vein wall to coagulate. The damaged vessels are then removed by the immune system over the next few weeks. Most small vessels can be treated in just a few short treatments. For the redness and flushing associated with Rosacea, a package of five treatments is usually recommended. To reduce the redness even faster, products such as Redness Relief have proved more effective than prescriptions such as MetroGel. When paired with the proper sunscreen, such as SkinMedica Daily Physical Defense, patients are able to maintain their results for years.

SmartLipo Body Sculpting

Colorado Skin and Vein is one of the most experienced offices offering SmartLipo in Colorado. Dr. Verebelyi is one of only three clinical trainers for the whole Midwest region. This treatment has all the benefits of traditional liposuction without the cost or downtime.

This SmartLipo is a quantum leap forward in the science of body sculpting. This is good news for Denver and Colorado Springs because this non-surgical liposuction offers incredible results, beautiful skin tightening and virtually no downtime. Recovery time is usually only a few days and can cost significantly less than traditional liposuction (because patients do not require general anesthesia).

SmartLipo uses laser technology to melt the fat within the treated area. In addition, it will smooth and tighten skin to decrease laxity that can be seen with traditional liposuction. When compared side-by-side with traditional liposuction, SmartLipo produced 80% more skin tightening. It can be used to treat any area of the body such as the abdomen, chin, flanks, thighs, arms and buttocks.

SmartLipo was approved by the FDA in 2006 and is the first laser to have an indication specifically for fat destruction. This laser technology utilizes a 1064nm wavelength, which is absorbed by the fat cells. This energy breaks down the fat cells so they can be removed. This particular wavelength not only targets fat but also coagulates small blood vessels resulting in less bruising and shorter downtimes. The SmartLipo MPX also has an additional wavelength (two lasers in one) at 1320nm. This new wavelength is only present on the latest version of the SmartLipo laser and is specifically designed for heating up the dermis of the skin to cause the maximum amount of skin tightening.

Due to its small canula size (2mm vs the typical 6mm canula for traditional lipo) and its ability to halt bruising, SmartLipo has significantly less side effects than traditional liposuction. The SmartLipo procedure can be performed in an office-based setting with minimal discomfort while the patient is awake. It is not necessary for a patient to be put to sleep using general anesthetics nor do they need to be admitted to the hospital for the procedure. Compared to traditional liposuction, SmartLipo can provide better results especially with superficial sculpting, skin tightening, and causing less side effects, which results in less downtime and lower cost.

Colorado Skin and Vein is the leading provider of laser liposuction in Denver, CO. We know that you will have questions about this exciting new procedure and we are always happy to meet with you. Give us a call 303.683.3235 to schedule an appointment, or request a consult online and one of our friendly staff members will contact you within 24 hours.

Xeomin

Xeomin is an FDA approved, botulinum type A product that is used to treat severe frown lines, or “11s” between the eyebrows. Xeomin was already approved for use in treating adults with cervical dystonia (abnormal neck pain and movements) and blepharospasm (involuntary spasm of the eyelid). Xeomin is manufactured by Merz Pharmaceuticals, and is approved for use in 20 countries. Like other products in this category, Xeomin works by paralyzing wrinkles. It blocks the signals from the nerves to the muscles. As a result, the targeted muscle can’t contract.
Xeomin is referred to as a “naked” product. This means that there are no additives – just botulinum toxin type A . This may cause the product to work better and may allow it to be used by more patients. Xeomin is very similar to Botox in the way it works. It takes about a week for the full effects to be realized and the results last from 3-6 months.
Colorado Skin and Vein is one of the top providers of Xeomin in Denver, Colorado. For more information on Xeomin or to schedule an appointment, contact us at (303) 683-3235 or request a consult online.

Sculptra

Sculptra Injection Uses:

  • Correction of Jowls
  • Facial Sculpting
  • Cheek Lift
  • Correction of volume loss under the eyes and in the nasolabial folds

Sculptra is an FDA-approved dermal filler made from poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), which is derived from fruit acids. Sculptra is a biocompatible and biodegradable, injectable material used for long-term correction of facial volume loss. It is one of the longest-lasting biodegradable fillers on the market today with results that can last up to 2 years or more*.

While normal fillers add volume directly into the skin, Sculptra stimulates the body to produce its own collagen. Referred to by some physicians as a, “face lift in a bottle,” Sculptra represents a new and unique non-invasive option. In clinical trials, the treated skin was noted to thicken up to 1 cm which results in improved facial contours, improvement in wrinkles, and a more youthful appearance.

Sclerotherapy

Sclerotherapy

In order to locate the root cause of spider vein growth, every patient receives an ultrasound. This painless procedure will identify damaged vessels and is necessary to ensure the proper vessels are targeted and the right treatment is chosen. In many cases sclerotherapy is the treatment of choice.

During the treatment, a small amount of solution is injected into the damaged veins. The solution causes the vein walls to become sticky and close. Over the next several weeks the body removes the treated vessels. Newer FDA approved solutions, such a Polidocanol, are more effective with less side-effects, and cause little to no discomfort.

At Colorado Skin and Vein we offer treatment for the smallest spider vein to the largest varicose vein. Let us help answer any questions you have about your veins. For more information on our varicose vein treatments, including sclerotherapy, call our office at (303) 683-3235 or request a consult online.
